Why Should I Hire A Home Inspector?

Updated: Jan 30

“A full home inspection is the best defense against future liability.” - Tory Graham

A home is one of the biggest investments you will ever make, so it is important to understand the current condition of your home and what you are buying. When you rent a property, your landlord is responsible for any necessary repairs. However, when you own a home, if something breaks it's all on you.

What is a home?

You probably have heard the phrase “Home is where the heart is.” That is true. A home is not just a place where you and your family eat, sleep, and live. It's a place where you and your family share a lot of time together creating memories and experiencing all the joys associated with it. Think about that for a second. When you are searching for a new home, you typically have a laundry list of needs, wants, and ideals that your new home must have before you move. Some items you may have on your list include:

  • Location of the house in relation to schools, work, and amenities

  • Activities in the area (parks, restaurants, shopping centers, etc)

  • Type and condition of the neighborhood

  • Does it work with my budget

  • Will it work for any pets

  • How does it work for our lifestyle

  • Will it benefit the kids

  • and on the list goes!
